Bon Jovi’s Because We Can Tour rolls through the area this Saturday night, where it’ll pack Gillette Stadium in Foxboro- home of the New England Patriots.
Recently, the Foxboro Board Of Selectman decided to extend the band’s curfew from 11:15pm to midnight. Bon Jovi asked for permission after the J. Geils Band were added to the lineup. Makes you wonder if Patriots owner Robert Kraft had any pull in the matter, as he and JBJ are close friends.
Foxboro town officials will be positioned at the soundboard and outside the stadium to ensure both bands are true to their word, and that their decibel levels don’t exceed the agreed-upon limit. If the contract is breached, they will be fined on a sliding scale, ranging from 5 cents per concertgoer for a five-minute violation to $1.75 per attendee if they play beyond 1:00AM.
Their ongoing tour is currently the highest-grossing tour of the year, raking in more than $140 million in 2013 to date. It’ll return to New England for 1 more date on Friday, October 25 at Mohegan Sun.
